What a man! He pays a part of a transfer fee so he can return to a club he loves

Don’t let them fool you – there are still professional football players childishly in love with that one special club they used to play in before. And when the emotions rush through their veins, nothing can stop them from returning to their old and one true love.Just check out Lucas Perez’s case. The 34-year-old former Arsenal forward has decided to quit his Cadiz FC spell in the Spanish La Liga so he could return to his Deportivo La Coruna.Lucas Pérez, former Arsenal striker and Cádiz’s top scorer in La Liga, paid €500k out of his own pocket to go down two divisions… 🤯He couldn’t stand seeing Deportivo La Coruña in the third division and wants to help them get back to where they belong 👏HUGE RESPECT! 🙌 pic.twitter.com/D0n0rZ8UNg— SPORTbible (@sportbible) January 2, 2023 Ok, so what, you might ask. Well, there are a couple of intriguing facts surrounding the story. The first one is that this will be Perez’s fourth stint at sleeping Spanish giants, currently playing in the third division. So he’s changing a top-notch football for much lower levels of the Spanish football hierarchy. But what makes this case even more unique is the fact Lucas will pay around half a million euros from his own pocket for a transfer fee! He was desperate to rejoin Deportivo as he “couldn’t stand” seeing them in the third tier.Ex-Arsenal forward Lucas Perez pays nearly half his own transfer fee (about $530K) to leave La Liga’s Cadiz and return to his former club – 3rd-tier Deportivo La Coruña – to try and help them back up the Spanish football pyramid. Here’s how fans responded.pic.twitter.com/TLGOBjGCZe— Men in Blazers (@MenInBlazers) January 2, 2023 Deportivo are currently fourth in the Primera Federacion, four points behind league leaders Cordoba after 17 fixtures.Perez, who is closing in on 100 appearances for Deportivo across two spells, will now look to steer them back into the second division – and professional football – after dropping two leagues.##NAJAVA_MECA_6917018##Perez has signed a one-and-a-half-year deal but should the Galician team achieve promotion, the contract could be for three-and-a-half years. He would also have the opportunity to move into a non-playing role within the club. Perez netted 17 times for Depor while they were in La Liga in the 2015-16 season before joining Arsenal.
