Up to five dependable players were missing for Wazito FC as they succumbed to a heavy 4-0 loss to Police FC in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League, FKFPL over the weekend.According to the interim manager Jeff Odongo, the five, who featured in the draw against Bidco United FC in their league opening fixture, returned late from the Christmas and New Year festivities.”We had prepared well before the break (Christmas and New Year), but after the festivities, we had a lot of challenges with players. Some of our young players didn’t report back in time, which meant we played Police minus up to five players who featured against Bidco United, so we lacked cohesion,” Jeff told Mozzart Sport. The Muhoroni-based side has since resumed training with all players present ahead of their return trip to Nairobi for Sunday’s tie against Ulinzi Stars at the Ulinzi Sports Complex, Langata. The team is set to travel on Saturday by road for the game against the Soldiers.Mandonga’s opponent in Kenya confirmedBut Jeff is worried that they are yet to shake the net in two fixtures. “We have been sharpening our attack in training and also working on our defense, but most importantly we have been trying to get the players to work together and play for each other.””We played very well against Bidco United and I’m sure we can do better and if possible pick our first win against Ulinzi.”The victory was the Police’s first in five outings under new coach Francis Baraza. The big spenders had previously registered two loses and equal number of draws.FKFPL Round 8 FixturesSunday 8 January Kariobangi Sharks vs Kenya Police -1PM – Kasarani AnnexMathare United vs Sofapaka – 3PM – Ruaraka GroundsFC Talanta vs KCB – 3PM – Kasarani Annex##NAJAVA_MECA_6929187##Nzoia Sugar vs Kakamega Homeboyz – 3PM – Sudi StadiumUlinzi Stars vs Wazito – 3PM – Ulinzi Sports ComplexAFC Leopards vs Bidco United – 3PM – Nyayo National StadiumBandari vs Tusker – 3PM – Mbaraki GroundsPosta Rangers vs Gor Mahia – 3PM – Thika StadiumVihiga Bullets vs Nairobi City Stars – 3PM – Bukhungu Stadium
