Indiscipline at the centre of Falcons debacle, officials claim

Kenya women football enthusiasts have called out Trans Nzoia Falcons officials for allegedly evicting their players from the team’s residential units after their Saturday 7 January loss to Vihiga Queens. Falcons hosted the champions at Ndura Sports Club grounds for the 2023 opening clash after a festive break where they went down 1-4. Face-saving Trans Nzoia Falcons call for team meeting after shameless player evictionsBarely hours after the match, social media was awash with photos and videos of what appears to be an eviction as mattresses and blankets were tossed out of a house alleged to belong to the team’s players. No official, however, is in sight as those seen in the video are players as they move said belongings outside the house. In an interview with club’s organising secretary Noah Wekesa, Mozzart Sport has learned that no official was involved in the alleged eviction and it was the players’ doing according to the club official. “These players have had issues that they chose to address in such a manner as opposed to having a proper sit-down to talk over whatever was happening. PATHETIC Trans Nzoia Falcons FC owner has decided to kick players out of the ‘club house’ after losing 3-0 to Vihiga Queens at home earlier today. It is reported that the players did not even have breakfast before the game against the defending champions.#WPL pic.twitter.com/IbcmPlVIvH— Ole Teya (@Kevin_teya) January 7, 2023 Claims that they walked to the pitch and lacked food are not true. We have records of what has been send to the players for their upkeep in camp. It may not be much but none went hungry,” Wekesa claims. The club official says Saturday’s incident was fueled by a section of the playing unit that on 24 December had been arrested for what he says was drunkeness and it took the club’s intervention to have released from police custody. After that it was a rollercoaster of issues with another group claiming to have injuries which Wekesa says only one member of said group had a genuine injury. “After the loss to Vihiga, we called for a meeting and part of the team refused to attend and resulted to hurling insults at club officials present,” Wekesa claims. “When things escalated we chose to let the players to get back to camp and then moments later we saw the videos.” ##NAJAVA_MECA_6929400##The club official has confirmed that the county leadership has now been involved and a meeting is set for Monday 9 January.
