Henry has competition: Pirlo and Renard interested in Belgium job

The bell has rang, the CV submission is over – the Belgium football association concluded it’s national football team coach application which was open from December 13th and will now look into the candidates who were interested enough to submit a CV. Red Devil’s recent coach Roberto Martinez was ‘punished’ for bad results at the World Cup by becoming the coach of even better team – Portugal, and it’s up to Belgians now to find a manager of their own. And there are candidates.🚨 Andrea Pirlo is interested in the head coach position of Belgium! 🤵🏻‍♂️🇧🇪 (Source: @HLN_BE) pic.twitter.com/yqTIrMEkcE— Transfer News Live (@DeadlineDayLive) January 10, 2023 „For me Henry is the next coach of Belgium. There are no doubts. I say it openly: he will be the next coach“ said Romelu Lukaku, one of the leaders in the locker room just few days ago. At the time, it looked that Thierry Henry is all but certain to take Martinez’s place. He was his assistant, would commanded the lower wage and knows the team and the organization inside out. But, reports from the media in Belgium are now saying that he is not such an enthusiastic candidate as it was first thought. But what about the others?Henry interested in taking over Belgium national teamThey are Andrea Pirlo and Herve Renard. Certainly not as enthusiastic as you would have thought. The former Juvenutus and Milan midfielder can certainly fit the ‘serial winner’ category required in the advert for the national coach, but only as a player. As a coach, he is nowhere near that, and leading a Turkish no-name club currently in the 10th place doesn’t give him much chance of succeeding Martinez. The other one is a far more successful coach, the Frenchman Herve Renard, who did wonders in Africa and is certainly a ‘serial winner’, but so far, he managed only Sochaux of all the European clubs, 10 years ago. The reports have not revealed any new names on the list so far, and if those three names are the only option for the Belgian federation, football fans in that country will remain fairly pessimistic about their national team for years to come. ##NAJAVA_MECA_6938340##
