Soon to be teammates? Saint Maximin is not leaving, but Gordon might come

Transfer window is slowly but surely closing and Newcastle have done nothing so far, apart from brining and Australian kid (Garang Kuol, 18) who was shipped on an immediate loan to Hearts. Many fans are nervous, since the Magpies are currently in for the Champions League spot, and if they don’t get it this time, many are fearing that it certainly won’t happen next season, when Chelsea and Liverpool will be back in contention, after overhauling their squads. But in reality, Newcastle has to follow Financial Fair Play rules, and after spending over 200 million in their last two transfer windows, they can’t afford to spent much and then end up like Everton. So, January will not be a month for major transfers (if any), unless some of their transfer targets becomes available. And one is available now – Anthony Gordon. Two important updates #nufc will not overpay for Anthony Gordon so #efc will have to reduce ridiculous £60m asking price. And for a third time this window, there is no chance of Allan Saint Maximin leaving and he hasn’t been offered to any clubs. Sense some anger esp over latter— Luke Edwards (@LukeEdwardsTele) January 25, 2023 Apart from the Toffies winger, Mussa Diaby remains their long term target and for those two players (among others), the Magpies are ready to spend in January, off course, for some reasonable sum. Some players will be shipped off (like Frazer, Lewis etc.) and some are already gone (Chris Wood), but unlike many reports, Alan Saint Maximin will not leave the club. Newcastle might listen to offers in June (and they will have to be over 20 million euros), but for now, they need to add wingers, not swap one with another. Saint Maximin hasn’t been playing much since he came back from injury, but the main reason is that Joelington currently plays as a winger in a 4-3-3 formation and Brazilian is in good form and he is also much, much better defensively than the Frenchman. On the opposite side is Miguel Almiron, also in form of his career so that is the only reason why the former Nice man is not playing more.    No head coach and no goalscorers: Everton want former Manchester United target ArnautovicAs for Gordon, he has missed two trainings with Everton, presumably due to his possible transfer, but the price remains a stumbling block. Newcastle saw their chance since the club is in deep crisis, but will certainly not pay 68 million, which is the sum Toffies are after. Magpies are offering around 40, with bonuses which can rise up to 56 million. And there is one other interested club, loaded with wingers, but also loaded with cash – Chelsea. The Blues are apparently interested and Everton are certain that they could offer more. If not, they will probably settle for United’s offer, since they need to give some cash to their new coach (whoever that might be), who will surely want to shake the squad.  ##NAJAVA_MECA_6971496##
