Cisse wants to come back to football, would play for free

Djibril Cisse has put an unofficial advert in the French media. The colorful French striker, who played for 13 clubs in his career has been retired for two years now, but he just said he would love to come back to professional football, if somebody wants to hire him. The reason? He wants to score 100 goals in Ligue 1. 🎙️ 41-year old Djibril Cissé says he wants to come out of retirement to play in Ligue 1 again:”Being 4 goals away from 100 in Ligue 1, it doesn’t suit me. If a club comes and offers me the chance to play, I will go for free.” pic.twitter.com/MKtZKSo1RX— Football Tweet ⚽ (@Football__Tweet) January 24, 2023 Former French international, with both Ivorian and Guinean’s decent made his name with Marseille, Liverpool and Auxerre and along with all other clubs for which he played for, he scored 205 goals from 452 appearances. Out of those 202, almost half of them came from the French league, where he scored 96 goals (Auxerre, Marseille, Bastia) and now, it seems that he cannot get over that. He prefers a round number so he decided to get his boots again. “Being 4 goals away from 100 in Ligue 1, it doesn’t suit me. If a club comes and offers me the chance to play, I will go for free” said Cisse. Cisse’s never-ending tour goes StatesideSo, if there is any club in the French elite competition out there who needs a proven (but not so young striker), Cisse will not charge them. He just needs his four goals and he’ll be on his way soon after. A quick look at the Ligue 1 reveals that two clubs are currently having troubles in attack and scored only 16 goals from 19 games: Ajjacio and Cisse’s first senior club Auxerre. He played for them from 1998 to 2004 and scored 70 goals in 128 appearances before making his big money move to Liverpool. He initially retired at the age of 35, but soon returned and went to Switzerland. He finished career after playing for Panathinaikos Chicago in USA. There were also some funny comments on social media that it took two years for Cisse to realize he needed four more goal, but former Liverpool ace had a hip replacements years ago and wasn’t fully fit. He probably is now, but at 41, he will hardly find a chance even in Auxerre. ##NAJAVA_MECA_6971473##
