Aston Villa’s midfield needs quality additions, and head coach Unai Emery wants former Arsenal player Matteo Guendouzi to fill that void. But the reunion with the Olympique de Marseille star isn’t likely in January.Signing a midfielder is high up on Emery’s wish list this transfer window, but the Spaniard will remain patient until the end of the current season to try and get his top targets. Guendouzi is one of those, as well as a top striker and a winger who can help Villa attack the top seven next season.##NAJAVA_MECA_6974796##Emery’s side is only three points from Premier League’s sixth position with 18 games left to play, but Villa’s squad is lacking in bodies and requires reinforcements. Since Emery arrived from Villarreal, the Villans have won five of their first seven EPL games, losing just once.Villa signed Alex Moreno and Jhon Duran this month, but Emery would like at least three more signings. It is unlikely that Villa will bring in any more than two players as time keeps running out. According to reports from France, Emery has already personally spoken with Guendouzi after also attempting to sign him for a second time while at Villarreal. Emery remains Guendouzi’s biggest fan, but that alone is not enough to get the French international back to the Premier League.
