Casemiro is a certified goal machine

Casemiro hit two goals in a match only for the second time in his career as Manchester United beat EFL Championship side Reading 3-1 in the FA Cup fourth round. The former Real Madrid midfielder has hit a double for his old club against Sevilla three years ago and has again found his shooting boots for at Old Trafford on Saturday night. It was a Brazilian rhapsody of Erik Ten Hag’s side. After a goalless 45 minutes, in which Marcus Rashford had a header disallowed after VAR spotted an offside, Casemiro took matters into his hands and opened the scoring when he cleverly lifted the ball over goalkeeper Joe Lumley.A few minutes later, substitute Fred laid the ball off for his fellow Brazilian Casemiro, and the goal-happy action man curled a sublime effort into the far corner, albeit via a slight deflection off a defender’s head.Fred himself got into the goalscoring action when he directed a Bruno Fernandes’ corner unguarded near post. The visitors, managed by former Manchester United, Liverpool and England midfielder Paul Ince, managed to pull one goal back through an Amadou Salif Mbengue free header. Still, their most telling contribution to this match’s proceedings was a mindless performance by their veteran striker Andy Carroll. The big man managed to get himself two bookings, both for highly unnecessary roughness against United’s players. There was a time when he was pretty dangerous when given a goalscoring chance. Now he just bullies people and gets no goals. It’s a sad way to end a striker’s career. In case you haven’t noticed by now – Casemiro is one exquisite footballer.ENGLAND – FA CUP1/16 finalsFridayMan.City – Arsenal 1-0 (0-0)/Ake 64/SaturdayWallsall – Leicester City 0-1 (0-0)/Iheanacho 68/Accrington – Leeds 1-3 (0-1)/Adekoya 81 – Harrison 23, Firpo 66, Sinisterra 68/Blackburn – Birmingham 2-2 (1-1)/Dack 33, Rankin-Costello 46 – Khadra 3, James 90+1/Bristol City – West Bromwich Albion 3-0 (2-0)/Bell 12, 48, Scott 28/Fulham – Sunderland 1-1 (0-1)/Cairney 61 – Clarke 6/Ipswich – Burnley 0-0Luton – Grimsby 2-2 (0-1)/Adebayo 49 pen, Clark 66 – Holohan 43, Clifton 67/Sheffield Wednesday – Fleetwood 1-1 (0-0)/Earl 71 og – Omochere 52/Southampton – Blackpool 2-1 (1-0)/Perraud 22, 62 – Patino 67/Preston – Tottenham 0-3 (0-0)/Son 50, 69, Danjuma 87/Manchester United – Reading 3-1 (0-0)/Casemiro 54, 58, Fred 66 – Mbengue 72/Sunday16:30: (2.75) Brighton (3.35) Liverpool (2.55)17:00: (1.60) Stoke (3.80) Stevenage (6.00)19:30: (4.40) Wrexham (3.50) Sheffield Utd (1.85)Monday21:45: (5.20) Derby (3.70) West Ham (1.70)***odds are subject to change***
