Kisumu County has blamed delayed disbursement from treasury as the reason for Kisumu All Stars financial struggles. The team which features in the National Super League (NSL) has been struggling to honor matches due to financial difficulties.Recently, the team had to fundraise inorder to honor a match against Mombasa Elite.Furthermore, players and members of the technical bench have not been paid since last September despite the team being sponsored by the county government of Kisumu.Speaking to Mozzartsport, Beatrice Odongo, the County Executive Committee (CEC) member for Sports, Culture, Gender and Youth Affairs, said the team has an annual budget from which they get supported. However, she said delayed disbursement from the treasury makes it difficult for them to support the team.“This is our team. We are determined to support them but we are always let down by the late disbursements. However, we have done our best and even when they were to play in Mombasa, we facilitated their travel. So far this season, they have not missed even a single match. The other issues are affected by budgetary constraints and we are working on it,” she said.##NAJAVA_MECA_6988540##In an embarrassing revelation on facebook, the team’s management also revealed that they have not been paid since September last year.”Since the beginning of the season, we have faced a very difficult time due to lack of finances.
