Tusker FC Midfield maestro Humphrey Mieno is optimistic that the Brewers will bounce back from a poor run of matches in January that culminated with a 3-0 loss to Kenya Police last weekend. In the seven matches that the reigning champions played in January, they only managed to pick nine points out of a possible 21 from two wins, three draws, losing twice and Mieno feels it was a perfect wake-up call for the whole team.Elvis Rupia’s hat trick scored against Tusker FC on Saturday was the fastest hat trick scored in the Kenya Premier League this season yet.It only took the marksman 14 minutes to drown the Brewers in sorrow. We now need to focus and work more on the pitch as we try to register positive results,” he said. The 33-year-old believes that their bounce back will rely on their mental strength, adding that the players have been putting in the necessary efforts in an attempt to return to positive results.”At times you just have a rough patch. Things do not go your way despite trying to work hard but I think it all comes down to mental strength as you try to pick up yourself from such a loss and try to win the next match. People are working well and are really focused on the coming match and I think we will bounce back from the loss and the poor run in January,” the midfielder added.Harambee Stars foward Masud Juma makes winning start on debut in Saudi ArabiaAhead of their weekend match against Kariobangi Sharks at Ruaraka Grounds on Saturday starting at 3 PM, Mieno opines that the Brewers have the ability to match William Muluya’s charges ability to keep the ball, adding that if they perfect that they will emerge winners in the tie.”They are a good technical side and have young lads who know how to keep the ball. I think that is their strongest point and if we work on it correctly because we have the capability to match that we will emerge winners,” he finished.
