FKFPL: Aussems’ foul mouth must be tamed for integrity of the league

The Football Kenya Disciplinary Committee met for the first time this season last week to deliberate and take action on a number of cases that were before it, and they must have been many.Since the FKF Premier League began last year, several glaring cases of misconduct involving players and coaches have been recorded, but nothing in terms of disciplinary action have been forthcoming. What action, for example, was taken against players who were captured pushing the center referee during the Week 2 fixture between Tusker FC and AFC Leopards at Kasarani Stadium? The referee has since been struck off the list of the FKFPL roll for failing to caution the players, but what about the players? Dismay as Ingwe coach calls journalist ‘stupid’ and labels match officials ‘clowns’A similar incident occurred on Jan 28 when Ulinzi Stars conceded an equalizing penalty against Nzoia Sugar FC at the Ulinzi Sports Complex. The lady referee, however, acted firmly, cautioning the Ulinzi players. Lately, use of foul language, especially by coaches, has been on the rise.##NAJAVA_MECA_6996837##While protesting Vihiga Bullets FC loss to Gor Mahia in Kisumu, which he deemed unfair, because his opponents were awarded two penalties, Bullets coach George Owoko accosted the ref after the match, and had to be restrained as he swore and hurled unprintables at him. That case has also not been acted upon. Only yesterday, a frustrated AFC Leopards coach Patrick Aussems repeatedly called a journalist stupid during a post match interview. The Belgian’s body language was condescending. Probably, he knew that could do that and walk away scot-free. However, our work ends there, for further disciplinary action, the matter must be taken to the relevant body.”For the FKFPL to live up to its top flight status, a lot must be done to make it professional, and that means, first of all, ensuring that all the people involved in it play by the rules and regulations.
