Lack of composure in front of goal saw AFC Leopards and Kariobangi Sharks share the spoils in an entertaining FKF Premier League game staged at the Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday afternoon.Ahead of the game, Leopards hadn’t lost in their last seven outings while Sharks had lost their last two. Sharks had however proved to be a bogey team for Ingwe since they got promoted.Sharks coach William Muluya whose side had not kept a clean sheet in the last four was happy with his team’s defensive organisation. “It’s one point earned. Yes we have not scored but I was happy with our defensive organisation because that has been majorly our weak area. Collins Obanda, Dan Guya and even Kevin Musamali all did well at the back. We will build on that ahead of our game against Sofapaka, “he told Mozzart Sport. On his part, Leopards coach Patrick Aussems said he enjoyed the game and opines that some goals should have been scored. “It was a good game because Sharks also play good football. We had opportunities but lacked that sharpness in front of goal. Sharks too had chances and could have hurt us in the first half. It was a good game that I think deserved some goal,” Aussems said.Ingwe started the match positively and had the first two chances of the game. The first was an Ojo Olaniyi header in the 3rd minute after he was picked in the area by Lewis Bandi, the striker however misconnected and his effort went over. Next he turned provider for Jaffari Owiti in the 5th minute but the winger’s shot went across goal.A quick switch of play in the 9th minute put Sharks captain Fortune Omoto through on goal, and with Levis Opiyo off his line, he lobbed the ball over the keeper only for his effort to hit the roof of the net. Leopards survived a scare after wasting what were more clear cut chances. The chances kept coming thick and fast for Leopards. Jaffari was denied yet again in the 12th minute before Victor Omune’s tame acrobatic effort in the quarter hour mark landed in the keepers’ arms. At the other end, Opiyo was called into action in the 18th minute to deny Sharif Musa on a high 1v1 situation after he was set up by Tyson Otieno.Exclusive: Otanga returns home after unsuccessful Libyan sojourn, ready to start afresh##NAJAVA_MECA_7037888##After surviving Ingwe’s multifarious chances Sharks slowly started to grow in the game, became more comfortable with the ball and looked dangerous on transition. They had another clear cut chance in the 31st minute but Opiyo did well to deny Paul Odhiambo from point-blank range. The action packed first half ended barren.Sharks made two attacking changes before the restart. Mathew Kibiwott and Moses Shikanda were introduced for Odhiambo and Musa in a bid to add more spark upfront. Three minutes in, Ingwe squandered yet another chance when Brian Wanyama was put through on goal but with only the keeper to beat, he shot wide, three minutes later, a last ditch tackle from Dan Guya denied Omune who was preparing to unleash a shot. The chances dried up as the clock ticked with most of the action taking place in the middle of the park.Olaniyi had a chance in the 81st minute from a Cliff Nyakeya corner kick delivery but his header narrowly missed the goal area.In the end the team had to share the points.AFC Leopards starting XI: Levis Opiyo, Boniface Mukhekhe, Kayci Odhiambo, Tedian Esilaba, Lewis Bandi, Musa Oundo, Brian Wanyama, Jaffari Owiti, Cliff Nyakeya, Victor Omune, Ojo OlaniyiSubs: Maxwell Muchesia, Peter Thiong’o, Washington Munene, Collins Shivachi, Giovanni Lukhumwa, Saad Musa, Eugene Mukangula, Maxwell OtienoKariobangi Sharks starting XI: Kevin Ouru, Dan Guya, Kevin Musamali, Collins Obama, Julius Masaba, Fortune Omoto, Keith Imbali, Geoffrey Onyango, Tyson Otieno, Paul Odhiambo, Shariff MusaSubs: John Otieno, Timothy Ekhavi, Leon Otieno, Biron Otieno, Sigmunn Maina, Franklin Sileh, Kevin Wangaya, Mathew Kibiwott, Moses Shikanda
