The future of APS Bomet appears to be up in the air, with players and other staff unsure of the club’s existence after it got relegated to the third tier by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF).The team’s relegation was confirmed last month after they failed to honor three consecutive National Super League (NSL) matches in protest of FKF’s decision to nullify the 2021/22 leagues. They had earned a promotion to the top tier in a season that the FKF Transition Committee ran, but after the federation’s restoration, the season was voided, and all teams had to go back to the league they played in before the disbandment of the federation.7046415##NAJAVA_MECA_7046415##Bomet and Fortune Sacco have since been relegated to the third tier, while Mayenje Santos, Kona Rangers, and Dimba Patriots will grace the Division Two League next season unless the case they have in court is ruled in their favour.Back to APS Bomet: since December, the team has yet to resume training, and with no proper communication forthcoming, the players and staff have been left in the dark, not knowing what to do. They have also not been paid for the past two months, with the management making it clear that they will only get their dues when the team starts playing again.”Since we broke for Christmas, we have not resumed training, and there is no proper communication from the team management. We have not been paid a cent this year as the club bosses say they cannot spend money when the team is not playing; we are stranded, and it is a very disturbing situation for everyone,” one of the stranded players told Mozzart Sport.A big Day for APS Bomet, Fortune Sacco, Mathare United, Vihiga Bullets, Kona Rangers, Mayenje Santos, Dimba Patriots, MTG United, Kibera Soccer, Royal Starlets FC, Bunyore Starlets, Kisumu All-Stars, and Kangemi Ladies.#SDTDecides pic.twitter.com/JpHQpABq92— Ole Teya (@TeyaKevin) December 6, 2022 “The team has been relegated, but the management insists that they are working on something and that we should keep waiting. Even if we were to be reinstated to the FKF Premier League tomorrow, how would we manage to play when we have not trained for over two months?” he posed. “Everyone wishes that the club would give us clearer communication,”Some of the players have already opted out. Steven Wakanya is currently training with his former club, Kakamega Homeboyz, while Evans Maliachi has officially left the club with the rest of the players looking for new homes.”Some players like Maliachi and Wakanya have left; most of the remaining ones are looking for options because we cannot continue this way,” he added.Efforts to reach club boss Rose Chemutai proved futile as calls went unanswered.Exclusive: Wazito name new head coach, hand Nkata a different role
