Posta Rangers head coach John Kamau watched on as his side toiled and labored for a goal in their Sunday afternoon home game against FKFPL defending champions Tusker at the Kasarani Annex grounds- a topic that made much of his post-match comments.“That was a good game for the fans but not for me,” John Kamau said after the 1-0 loss. “I feel I deserved more than I got. I mean we created so many goal scoring opportunities but … I am disappointed.“The fans enjoyed that one, fair to them, but I am a disappointed man.”##NAJAVA_MECA_7050022##For much of the game’s second half, Posta Rangers made frequent inroads into the Tusker box but missed clear opportunities to equalize – after going down early in the first half thanks to a fourth minute freekick from Shami Mwinyi.Sammy Odero had a good chance after the goal to equalize when he drifted past the Tusker defense but his right footed shot went way over the bar.Brian Otieno then miscued the ball at the back post in the closing minutes of the first half, before a couple of decent opportunities from Brian Marita and Patrick Otieno went way-ward for the Mailmen.Full Time: Posta Rangers 0-1 TuskerShami pic.twitter.com/YsYKzcEYzd— Kenyan F⚽otball (@KenyaPremierLg) February 26, 2023 “This is sadly the story of the season. I really lack words,” Kamau said. “As a coach, I am delighted when we carve out more than six opportunities on goal but we can’t keep on dropping points. We have done that again today.”Asked about what he does to address the situation, Kamau stated that the long break for the side will provide opportunity for the team to work together and create a window for more consultations in regards to signing extra players in the mid-season.“I definitely need a striker who can get me more goals,” Kamau said. “Apart from that, I will also look to add a left-back because we are thin on that department.”Masinza’s second coming at Homeboyz promises better tidingsAs fellow FKFPL teams prepare to take part in the FKF Cup, Posta Rangers will be noticeably missing, and Kamau took a moment to address the whole situation.“We got the invitation late and it’s regrettable for us as a team because we cannot change anything,” he said. “We would have loved to play in it but as a parastatal, we respect the bureaucracy.”Posta Rangers at the halfway point of the season have 19 points from 17 games and with only 14 goals scored. The next assignment for them will be against bottom-placed Vihiga Bullets when league action resumes.
