Nzoia Sugar FC head coach Salim Babu says the club is in the market for central defenders and could bring on board one or two youngsters before the month-long mid-season window closes. The Bungoma-based side recently lost seasoned defender Salim Odeka, who exited after a year, and are keen on beefing up that department with new faces ahead of the second leg, which starts in under a fortnight.##NAJAVA_MECA_7050022##Babu, who has a largely youthful squad, is not keen on getting big names on board. He says that he has identified two young defenders and will rope in one or both of them to boost his rank.”As you know, we lost Salim Odeka, and that means that we have to recruit in that department, and we will get one or two central defenders. As Nzoia we do not go for big names, we nature talents. There are young, quality central defenders that we have identified, and I am confident that they will fit in should we bring them on board,” he told Mozzart Sport.A number of Nzoia players have been linked with moves away. They include Kevin Juma, Boniface Munyendo, Joseph Mwangi, and Hassan Beja, but Babu says nothing concrete has come out of the reports and hopes to have his squad intact for the second leg. He is, however, alive to the fact that he could lose players.”At this point, the only player who has left is Salim, but I cannot confidently say that we will not lose any players. Some clubs tend to engage players on the side, but until they formally reach out, the players they are after remain on Nzoia Sugar’s books. For now, I am planning with all my players in mind, and hopefully, we do not lose any of our key stars,” he added.Masinza’s second coming at Homeboyz promises better tidings
