Asieche, Abuko, Masinza among five players axed by Kakamega Homeboyz

Kakamega Homeboyz FC has parted ways with 5 players in a bid to revamp the western based side and among those exiting is Christopher Masinza, a club mainstay after three seasons with the outfit.Masinza’s three-year contract ran out on Monday as soon as the FKF Premier League transfer window swung open and joined Elli Asieche, Meshack Muyonga, Simon Abuko and Eugene Wethuli in search for new pastures.‘’I think my time at Kakamega Homeboyz has been great given how we have performed during my three-year stay at the club,’’ he said.

The forward, who joined the club back in 2019 from Vihiga United, was nurtured by coach Nicholas Muyoti and has played under Bernard Mwalala, John Baraza and now Patrick Odhiambo. He admits to his best season coming in the 2019/20 campaign.‘’I personally elect to remember the season preceding Covid-19 as our best performance ever. We were well on our way to winning the league title and I was also scoring at will for the team,’’ he said.‘’The were some other two great seasons to follow and I fondly remember them too. The recent releases by the team points to an incoming revamping of the unit.
