Promotion-chasing FKF Division One side Nyota FC have appointed Mohamed “Kidu” Ali as their new head coach for an undisclosed period of time.Kidu takes over from Ibrahim Shikanda, who a fortnight ago left the club for Kakamega Homeboyz. The former Kenyan international joined the FKF Premier League outfit as an assistant to new head coach Patrick Odhiambo.##NAJAVA_MECA_7059485##Nyota are currently 6th in the third-tier log with 16 points, five adrift of leaders Green Comandos and the club hierarchy is keen on seeing the team promoted to the National Super League for next season. To achieve that goal, they have turned to Kidu. He joins the team from troubled Kona Rangers FC, whose future remains unclear following their relegation to the fourth tier of Kenyan football for refusing to honor three consecutive league matches in protest of the nullification of last season’s leagues. The team had earned a promotion to the National Super League after beating Kangemi All-Stars in the playoff but when FKF was reinstated, they nullified the leagues sending them back to the third tier.Club CEO Fred Wesonga has confirmed Kidu’s arrival in an interview with Mozzart Sport.”Kidu is our new head coach; he replaces Shikanda. We took time to settle on a new coach, and in him we have brought on board a man who understands the game too well, plays positive football, and we are confident that he will lead the team to the National Super League with the necessary support, “he stated. He added that they want to see the tactician’s beautiful football at the Mumias Sports Complex-based side.”He is not a high-profile coach but a very thorough one. Last season, he led the Kona Rangers to the NSL through the playoffs before the season was annulled, and his team was a joy to watch because they dominated play and displayed eye-catching football. We want him to implement his philosophy here as well,” he added.Kwanthanze crowned African champions in Morocco
