Zdravko Logarusic, the former coach of Kenyan football giants Gor Mahia, has taken on a new challenge in the form of coaching Al Batin in the Saudi Premier League. The Croatian coach brings with him a wealth of experience, having managed several top clubs across Africa and Asia.Logarusic’s recent match in charge of Al Batin was a tough test against Al Nasr yesternight, the team that features superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. Despite putting up a valiant effort, Al Batin eventually fell to a 3-1 defeat. Al Batin led 1-0 until the 93rd minute, courtesy of a strike by Uruguayan forward by Renzo Lopez who opened the scoring on 17 minutes. With 12 minutes added after regulation time, Abdulrahman Ghareeb levered matters on 93 minutes before Mohammed Al Fatil and Mohammed Maran sealed the win for Al Nasr with quick fire goals. While the loss is certainly disappointing for Logarusic. he will definitely take pride having coached a team that played against the GOAT that is Cristiano Ronaldo. Logarusic debut at Al Batin was a 1-0 win over Al Ittifaq, this coming after losing all their three previous matches so far this year. The team is currently at the bottom of the log with just 6 points from 19 matches.
