2008 Kenyan Premier League champions Mathare United have parted ways with six players to make room for new arrivals in preparation for a second leg in which the team will largely be battling for survival in the top tier. The positive results registered by the team in recent weeks, including the famous 2-1 win over Gor Mahia, have catapulted the team out of relegation, but they understand that they are not out of the woods yet, with more big results needed in the remaining 17 matches of the season to have them totally out of the red zone.##NAJAVA_MECA_7079984##Under interim coach Sam Koko, the club has made a decision to axe six players, all of whom joined the team before the start of the season, to pave the way for new faces at the club.Leading those exiting is midfielder Augustine Kuta, who surprisingly featured in nearly all the games in the first leg. He was named in the starting XI against Sofapaka on Wednesday, but the club has opted to cut ties with him. Also leaving is goalkeeper Mustafa Oduor, who was the first-choice custodian in the opening three matches of the season before he lost the spot to Brian Olang’o.The other four are players who barely featured for the club. They are Samson Otieno, former AFC Leopards youth team player, Valdo Madegwa, Reagan Onyango, and Dennis Isukwe.Meanwhile, the club has already announced the arrival of David ‘Cheche’ Ochieng, who rejoins for his second stint at the club. Others expected to return to the club are left-back Norman Ogola and midfielder Meshack Muyonga.
