A wild day at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, was cut short by inclement weather.
The second round of the Players Championship has been suspended at 4:27 p.m. ET the skies darkened over the golf course. Play is set to continue Saturday morning at 7 a.m. ET.
PGA Tour rules official told Mark Dusbabek told Golf Channel that they’re estimating it will take about three hours to complete the second round.
The projected cut line is at 1 over at the time of the suspension. The list of notable golfers in jeopardy of missing the cut include Shane Lowry (2 over), Justin Thomas (2 over), Tony Finau (2 over), Matt Fitzpatrick (3 over), Tom Kim (3 over), Kurt Kitayama (5 over) and Rory McIlroy (6 over).
After putting two balls in the water on the par-3 17th, Chad Ramey relinquished his lead and now trails Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Adam Svensson (8 under) by four shots.
Collin Morikawa is 6 under and two back while Scottie Scheffler is 5 under. The world No. 2 will have a 17-foot eagle putt on the par-5 11th when play resumes.

Because of prolonged weather delays, the 2022 Players had a Monday finish.
The current forecast calls for the system coming out of the west to clear Friday night, with sunny conditions expected on Saturday and Sunday.
