What’s a huge clock doing in Arsenal’s dressing room?

It’s another Sunday win for the Gunners and another step towards a long waited title in North London. After a comfortable 3-0 win over Fulham, Arsenal are one step closer to the Premier League title, their first since 2004. Under coach Mikel Arteta, the players are much more focused and are thinking about one game at the time, but the buzz in North London is huge as the time goes by, that the players cannot help to look for the big picture once in a while. And they seemed to have done just that on Sunday.💯 wins for Mikel Arteta as Arsenal manager pic.twitter.com/56Rlr4gZdb— B/R Football (@brfootball) March 12, 2023 The ‘controversy’ was started by Oleksandr Zinchenko, who posted a photo on his Instagram account with a photo of celebration from the dressing room at Craven Cottage. But what interested many in that photo was that the players were posing with a huge clock, a replica of the Clock End clock, which hung at their former stadium Highbury. The clock is a hugely important symbol in Arsenal’s history and in 2010, a larger replica of the clock was installed at Emirates Stadium, with the original high up outside the stadium. The fans were obviously very interested to know the meaning of this clock in the dressing room, especially the time on the clock. The big hand was positioned at 11 and the small on the 2. What the fans came up with was that it shows the games and months remaining until the end of the season. The Premier League finishes in two months and there are 11 games to play until the end, so it was the only logical solution.Rising Starlets step up preparations ahead of Uganda clashAnother great thing for the fans, apart from the 3-0 away win was the comeback of Gabriel Jesus. The Brazilian forward was a huge part of Arsenal’s success earlier in the season, but he got injured and was out of action since suffering a medial collateral ligament injury during Brazil’s World Cup group stage defeat to Cameroon in November. Everybody thought that his injury will end Arsenal’s title quest, but after 120 days, Jesus came in as a sub, and his team is still the leader of the league.“Big boost. The first step today. We didn’t know if it was the right game today. He said to me a few days ago ‘I’m still missing something.’ Yesterday I looked in his eyes and he said ‘I’m ready’. I said ‘OK!’ So then we had the opportunity to throw him in. It’s that first step to give him the big boost. He looks free, he looks ready and straight away he generated those two big chances. It’s great to have him back. Now he needs to earn his place, like any other player” said coach Mikel Arteta after the game.##NAJAVA_MECA_7087982##
