Bandari FC head coach Anthony Kimani was visibly excited with his team’s performance on Thursday afternoon, as the coastal side led early and held on to secure a win away from home against high-flying Mathare United. The win was only their third on the travels this season and their ninth overall this season – lifting them to eighth position on the FKF Premier League log with 30 points.##NAJAVA_MECA_7108294##“That was a tough match as expected,” Anthony Kimani said after the 1-0 win over Mathare United. “Mathare have definitely made their name this season beating AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia and so we had to be cautious. I am really happy with how strong we were today and finally found the win.”Umaru Kasumba put Kimani’s side in the lead after 15 minutes and they didn’t look back, creating several goal-scoring opportunities that didn’t go unnoticed by the former Kenya international.“Yeah, we missed several sitters there, probably that’s the only thing I felt we didn’t do well enough today,” Kimani said.Bandari have found consistency hard to come by this season after being among the top sides in the previous Premier League seasons.Ah! We slacked defensively and didn’t create as many opportunities on the other end.“I am glad to see all that change and hopefully this momentum persists.”Kenya imeamua kwamba Burdaan litaandaliwa pale Harambee Stars 🇰🇪Vijana wetu hodari, waalimu wa mpira ndio watakao wakilisha sherehe ya Pwani. It speaks of the collective effort we put as a team and the excitement for them sips through to everyone of us. I can only wish them well.”Going forward, Kimani hopes that the international break will serve them well as they look to take a rest and work on the last stretch of the league.
