Tusker FC tactician Robert Matano is confident that Charles Momanyi and Mike Kibwage will form a formidable partnership at centerback with time despite a sloppy first-half showing in their two-all draw against Ulinzi Stars. In the absence of the injured Tom Teka, Matano has opted to pair Kibwage and Momanyi at the expense of Kalos Kirenge. The former Sofapaka FC captain joined the Brewers a month ago.Against the Soldiers, Kibwage dished out a penalty after hacking Boniface Muchiri inside the box while a miscommunication at the back saw Tusker gift Ulinzi another goal in a span of two minutes.##NAJAVA_MECA_7108300##Hillary Simiyu and Masita Masuta gave the Benard Mwalala charges the lead into the break but an improved display by the Brewers in the second half saw Humphrey Mieno pull one back five minutes after the restart with Momanyi scoring yet another last minute goal to salvage a point.Speaking about the partnership of the two, Matano admitted that it is an element that is lacking but promised that they will work to rectify it within no time.”The two are not used to that partnership because Kibwage just came in and this was his third match. We cannot say that they are used to playing together but I am confident that as we continue they will form a good partnership. The partnership was lacking against Ulinzi but we are going to work on it and I know it will come up,” Matano said.Michael Kibwage finally seals long overdue move to TuskerWhile the defensive partnership has not been the best in the two league matches against FC Talanta and Ulinzi, Momanyi has been the point of difference on the other end of the field, scoring late in both matches to salvage two points for Tusker.Kibwage, who can slot in at right back, had been training with the beer makers for close to two months before penning a year-long deal with the club in February but had to wait until March to get registered and return to competitive action. His signing was made a requisite after Isaac Kipyegon was suspended over his alleged involvement in match-fixing.
