Nzoia Sugar FC have confirmed the departure of winger Felicien Okanda to Kakamega Homeboyz after days of negotiations between the two clubs. The winger had last week informed the club that he wants out after the Kakamega-based side approached him over a potential switch to the club this window. Homeboyz have been on a recruitment spree after what was an underwhelming first league.##NAJAVA_MECA_7134373##Initially, the Millers were reluctant to let the player go but an executive meeting concluded that it was pointless to keep hold of the Congolese midfielder who was training with Homeboyz and even scored in a friendly match against Luanda Villa FC last week.Charman Evans Kadenge has confirmed the player’s departure and wished him well at his new workstation.”We officially released him to join Homeboyz after he made it clear that he wanted out. As a club we do not insist on keeping players who aren’t settled or have it clear that they no longer want to be part of the project. The club’s executive committee met and we arrived at decision to let him continue with his football career at Kakamega Homeboyz,” Kadenge told Mozzart Sport.Other than Okanda, the other player who left the club is defender Salim Odeka. The millers brought on board winger James kibande who made a switch back after a few months with Kenya Police and Kadenge says they were not keen on getting in more players.”We haven’t signed his replacement because we have enough depth and cover in the team and other than Okanda and Salim we didn’t lose any other player. This will also be an opportunity for other players who haven’t been playing much to step up and claim a place in the team,” he added.Nzoia Sugar FC will be in action later today against Ulinzi Stars.Harrison Mwendwa, Ouma join KCB
