Two days after beating Ihefu in the ASFC quarter final, Simba SC got yet another win, this time edging Ihefu 2-0 in a league match played at the Highland Estate Ground in Mbeya, Tanzania on Monday afternoon. Unlike on Friday where it was a smooth sailing from the start to finish, the league assignment proved a tough one for Simba as they were held to a barren draw in the first half.Congolese striker, Jean Baleke who was Ihefu’s chief tormentor on Saturday with a double did the damage again on Monday scoring both goals in the 84th and 87th minutes to hand Wekundu wa Msimbazi maximum points.They remain second in the log with 60 points, give shy of leaders Yanga who also have a game in hand ahead of Sunday’s Kariokor Derby between the two arch rivals in Dar.After the derby, Simba will be up for a huge task against CAF Champions League defending champions, Wydad Casablanca.
