AFC Leopards are potentially an injury away from a crisis ahead of Wednesday’s league match against FC Talanta, with just one goalkeeper available for the game.Ingwe have Levis Opiyo and Maxwell Mulili as their own registered goalkeepers. On Sunday against Kenya Police, Opiyo got his fifth booking of the season, thereby ruling him out of the match against Ken Kenyatta’s Talanta. Ingwe thrashed the cash-strapped side 6-0 in the first leg.Coach Patrick Aussems bemoaned Opiyo’s suspension, describing the situation as a “problem.””Lovae (Opiyo) got his fifth yellow card, and so he will be suspended on Wednesday against Talanta, and so it becomes a problem because we only have Maxwell for the game,” he said.AFC Leopards plays again on Wednesday. The injury means Ingwe have three players sidelined from an already thin squad. The others are Lewis Bandi and Kayci Odhiambo, while Washington Munene is sick.”As you know, we already have a small squad, and with one more injury, it means that we have four players out. It is not an ideal situation, and we now have to try and manage it,” he added.”We were lucky until the end of February not to get any injuries or suspensions, but now everything bad thing is coming at the same time and we need to deal with that.” The match against Talanta will be played on Wednesday afternoon at the Nyayo National Stadium.
