Mwatate United team manager Omar Mbaraka has lifted the lid on the circumstances preceding the untimely death of the club’s centre back Erick Oindo Mwema.According to the club, the defender who was commonly known as Gor succumbed on Monday evening following a swimming pool accident.##NAJAVA_MECA_7162597##Mbaraka, disclosed that the player is suspected to have suffered a muscle pull while undergoing a recovery session in the pool that, limited his mobility.He revealed that, the deceased is suspected to experienced a muscle strain while in the deep end of the pool that saw him drown without his teammates taking note.The Kenyan sensation winning hearts with Rory Delap-like throw-in magicMbaraka recounts that a member of the playing unit noticed that Mwema had taken longer the usual under water and raised the alarm with the attendant who according to his narration retrieved him and administered first aid.Thereafter, the player was rushed to the Mwatate Sub-County Hospital where he, according to Mbaraka was pronounced dead on arrival.“It is unfortunate that, we lost our player on Monday evening. We had gone for a recovery session in our usual swimming pool that is located four kilometres from our training pitch. We suspect that, the departed player developed a muscle pull while in the deep end of the pool.The attendant in conjunction with our team doctor tried administrated the first aid for drowning incident and rushed to the hospital.
