Zanaco dismiss Nigerian legend Emmanuel Amunike and the entire Technical Bench

Zambian Super League side Zanaco FC have fired consultant coach Emmanuel Amunike and the entire technical bench following a string of poor results. Amunike’s assistant Emeka Amadi and Head Coach Kelvin Kaindu have also been dismissed after the team lost to Napsa Stars 1-0 on Sunday. “The Board of Directors and Management wish to thank the three coaches for the services rendered to the club and accordingly wish them all the best in their future endeavors,” a club statement reads partly. The 52-year-old had qualified them to the continental showpiece for the first time in over three decades.Zanaco have since appointed veteran coach Wedson Witson Nyirenda on an interim basis to stabilize the team for the remainder of the season.”Mr. Wedson Witson Nyirenda is a seasoned Coach, who has coached the Zambia Senior Men’s National Team, top tier clubs in South Africa and Mozambique and several local Premier league clubs in Zambia, including Zanaco Football Club from 2009 to 2011,” a statement from the former champions reads in part, “He has won a number of trophies and league titles during his coaching career spanning over 25 years.” The statement concludes.
