Former Kenyan international John Baraza has tipped the duo Gor Mahia, KCB, and Tusker to take the race to the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) title down to the wire.Baraza whose last station in the top league was Kakamega Homeboyz as head coach says the winner is likely to be determined on the last day of the campaign.“It looks tight so far and it is likely to go to the wire but for me, Gor Mahia, Tusker, and KCB are the favorites to be declared champions,” he said.In justifying Gor Mahia’s title credentials, Baraza said history has proven that the record Kenyan champions rarely let the advantage slip through their hands.Gor are currently at the top of the log with 52 points after playing 24 matches four points ahead of second-placed Tusker.“Gor will be difficult to be dislodged from the top as we have seen previously. Furthermore, their recent signings have brought some great depth to the team. They are highly motivated at the moment,” said Barasa. For Tusker, he said the brewers have scented the title and are unlikely to let go of the chase.“Tusker have great players and an experienced coach who when he senses they are near the title does not let go easily. KCB are not the same team they are since Zedekiah Otieno took over.At the end of the day, anyone who slips in the next two or three matches will have themselves to blame,” he said.He further predicted that the financially struggling Vihiga Bullets are unlikely to survive relegation but he does not know who will join them in the lower league. The top-tier league resumes on Saturday at various venues.
