The Champions League is running away: Inter lost again in Serie A

Inter’s agony in Serie A continues. In the space of just four days, the Nerazzurri first defeated Benfica in the middle of Lisbon, and then lost at home to Monza 1-0. This was the fourth defeat for Simone Inzaghi’s team in the last five rounds of Italian championship, so the city rival Milan distanced itself from Inter, even thou they only drew with Bologna. Monza played quite smartly, especially in the second half, where they waited patiently for their opportunities which came from free-kicks and counterattacks. And the biggest chance came from a corner kick in the 78th minute, which was executed perfectly by Patrick Curia, and Luca Caldirola headed the ball into the net of the helpless Andre Onana.3 – #Inter have lost three consecutive home games without scoring in each match for the first time ever in #SerieA. Lautaro Martinez, who replaced the not so inspired Joaquin Correa in the 71st minute, missed most of the chances, as all of his shots went past or over the goal of Rafael Paladino’s team. Inter finished the game with 26 shots at the opponent’s goal, of which only six were on target. Coach Inzaghi finished the match with three classic strikers, as Lautaro and Lukaku were joined by Edin Dzeko in the last 10 minutes, while Hakan Calhanoglu increased the distribution of the ball towards the visiting penalty area. However, there was no solution for the well-placed and rather lucky defense of Monza. This was Monza’s 10th victory of the season, which moved them to an unattainable 15 points away from Verona, and it is practically only a matter of formality when it will officially secure its survival in the elite ranks of Italian football competitions.SERIE A – MATCHDAY 30FridayCremonese -Empoli 1-0 (1-0)/Dessers 4Spezia – Lazio 0-3 (0-1)/Immobile 36, Anderson 52, Antonio 89/SaturdayBologna – Milan 1-1 (1-1)/Sansone 1 – Pobega 40/Napoli – Verona 0-0Inter – Monza 0-1 (0-0)/Caldirola 78/Sunday13.30: (2.04) Lecce (3.45) Sampdoria (4.30)16.00: (1.84) Torino (3.60) Salernitana (5.10)19.00: (3.80) Sassuolo (3.50) Juventus (2.14)21.45: (1.94) Roma (3.45) Udinese (4.30)Monday21.45: (2.50) Fiorentina (3.35) Atalanta (2.90)***odds are subject to change
