AFC Leopards have vowed to exhaust all legal means available in a bid to contest the decision by the Football Kenya Federation Premier League Leagues and Competitions’ decision to punish the club following the incidents that forced the Ingo Derby to abandon midway.Leopards were faulted by the committee and subsequently, sanctions including financial ones were imposed on the club despite being the visiting team in the game.##NAJAVA_MECA_7190623##In a rebuttal, Leopards chairman Dan Shikanda disclosed that the club was ‘deeply ‘ astonished and aggrieved by the ruling and hence, will challenge it through the legally available channels.Shikanda, first fired back at the committee for failing to make known the evidence provided by Kakamega Homeboyz and for also, relying on a report from the match commissioner whom he criticized for open bias towards Abana Abeingo. The former player disclosed that their defence before the committee which largely incriminate Homeboyz for failing to provide adequate security was disregarded.”We urge our fans to remain calm even as we seek to challenge the decision legally,” he said. The seasoned administrator who for the first time publicly condemned the acts of hooliganism witnessed in Bukhungu further went on to criticise the move by the committee to lock the Ingwe faithful from attending the next four home matches. He said, barring the fans from painting the stands blue and red was denying them their rights and had deep financial implications on the club.”Denying our fans the right to attend matches is an effort aimed at reversing the gains we had made in as far as rallying fans to attend matches. We have been trying hard to spice up matches by urging fans to show up in large numbers but the recent ruling will kill their morale and will also affect our collections,” he said.Unfair!
