When one of the most successful Bayern managers Hansi Flick resigned (he is, along with Pep Guardiola only manager to achieve a sextuple with his team), everybody knew that he left the club which he loved and played for in his youth only because the broken relations with sporting director Hasan Salihamidzić. Between these two men, somehow surprisingly, the Bayern board chose their former player and executive and decided to find a new coach. Nearly two years later, it seems that it’s time for Brazzo to pay the price if the club doesn’t win the title. And for the first time in years this looks real, as Borussia took the lead at the table and if they win in the next five game, they will be champions, no matter what Bayern does.Internally, there are doubts over Hasan Salihamidžić and whether he’s competent enough for FC Bayern. There are opinions that the club is too big for him [@georg_holzner, @kicker] pic.twitter.com/E9JoV8PD4x— Bayern & Germany (@iMiaSanMia) April 23, 2023 The Bavarians have scheduled their club board meeting for May 22nd, just five days before the last game of the season, and if the 11th consecutive title is not secured by then, heads will roll, Brazzo’s or Oliver Kahn’s, or both. Back to the Hansi Flick story, he was much more successful than Nagelsmann when he resigned, and Brazzo had enormous support from his powerful mentor Uli Hoeness, another Bayern legend and former president, who is an ‘influential board member’. It was Salihamidzić who handpicked Nagelsmann and gave him a five year contract and also paid 20 million euros to Leipzig as a compensation. And now he is sacked, even thou he was winning (just not the ‘Bayern way’), he is still on a payroll since the compensation package is huge. And then Salihamidzic and Kahn picked Thomas Tuchel, who won only two out of seven games in charge. And let’s not forget that Brazzo was even rewarded with contract extension last year until 2026. But his responsibility will now be much harder to defend, even for almighty Hoeness.Turbulence in Munich: What will happen to Kahn and how Tuchel downgraded Bayern in three weeksAs respectable ‘Kicker writes’, Salihamidzic has not managed in recent years to fill the gaps of the departed top performers and leading players such as Robert Lewandowski, Thiago, Jerome Boateng and David Alaba. The Austrian was a special case: Due to Lucas Hernandez’s exorbitant salary (around 24 million euros), he wanted a financial adjustment if the contract was extended. However, Bayern were not willing to pay for this. And if they did, Hernandez would have little playing time, and the Bosnian paid 80 million for the Frenchman. Those series of bad decision, including the fight with successful coach and then replacing him with another who was sacked would be enough for any other club to say ‘goodbye’ to their sports director, but don’t forget Hoeness.’If he didn’t go skiing, maybe he would still be Bayern’s coach’Both Bild and Kicker posted polls, asking their readers to name the main culprit for current’s Bayern plight, and the results were the same: Salihamidzić (Kicker 68%, Bild 44%). Other votes went to Kahn, players and Nagelsmann. And the results are logical, since Oliver Kahn is CEO and Brazzo strictly manages the sports section, in consultation with Kahn, who can’t sack his director even if he wants to. That’s for supervisory board to decide on May 22nd. The board has nine members, with president Herbert Hainer at the helm and Hoeness as one of the other nine man. If the title is not there, anything can happen on May 22.##NAJAVA_MECA_7198458##
