Former Harambee Stars coach Stanley Okumbi has challenged local tacticians to learn to prepare their players for high level competition.Okumbi argues it is the only way to improve the performance of the National team, Harambee Stars. Speaking on Radio Jambo on Sunday afternoon, Okumbi said the preparations of Harambee Stars should not be left to only the head coach.“It all starts with our elite coaches at both the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) and National Super League (NSL) having intense preparations. The players must be prepared right from the FKFPL and NSL to be ready to play at the highest level,” he said. Olunga scores a brace as Duhail inch closer to league titleOkumbi said he also supports the importation of Kenyan players abroad to feature for Harambee Stars but insists a lot of research needs to be done before that happens.“The national team coach needs to get as much information as possible about this players and he ought to be supportted by many people,” Okumbi said,“I remember while I was handling the national team and we beat Democratic Republic of Congo, I was helped by one of our referees who had officiated a club match involving TP Mazembe. He sent me a clip of the match which helped me to prepare. So for us to succeed we require a concerted effort by everyone,” he added. ##NAJAVA_MECA_7217566##Okumbi also revealed that he would love to come back to the Harambee Stars hot seat in future.“People misjudge me a lot due to my soft spoken nature. However, there is a lot beyond what you see. The pressure I went though in 2016 was intense but given the opportunity again in future, I would love to make a come-back,” he said.##EDITORS_CHOICE##
