Where is K’Ogalo’s green army?

The Green Army, as Gor Mahia fan base used to be referred to, was a sight to behold.Their passion and dedication to supporting the club, whether playing at home or away was unparalleled.Wherever K’Ogalo was, they were not only present in numbers, but took control, turning the venue into a fortress. Not anymore!Title-hunting Tusker, Gor Mahia in action as race for top spot heats upGor Mahia matches are now as silent as a cemetery. The sound of drumming and singing is gone. The club’s anthem that used to be belted out, led by the self-proclaimed fan number one, Jaro Soja, sending chills down the spine of opponents before kickoffs is now a rare occurrence.Yet, fans of K’Ogalo’s arch rivals AFC Leopards have been enviously swelling every match day despite the club’s lackluster performance in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL), begging the question, what happened to fans of title chasing Gor Mahia? That question has no definite answer. However, some issues have been pointed out including disgruntlement over lack of transparency in the management of the club, politicization of the fan base by selfish individuals and loss of focus by club branches who are being accused of organizing and attending more funerals than matches.💚Green Army💚🟢SirkalFans Watch #GMFC @SportPesa @johnnymckinstry #SportpesaNaGor #Sirkal #Mayienga #Kogalo #ChuorTimbe pic.twitter.com/yJiwqpNxLv— Gor Mahia FC Ke (@gormahiafcke) April 30, 2023 Interestingly, some fans are also alleging that the move by the Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier to come out openly as a member of Freemasonry, a secret society, has scared them away. With just seven games to go and only two points separating them from title rivals Tusker at the top, Gor Mahia are urging fans to return to give the team that final push.”I urge our supporters to return and rally behind the team in large numbers to complement the work they have done so far in trying to win the league,” Gor Mahia vice chairman Francis Wasuna urged.McKinstry lauds K’Ogalo team spirit after completing season double over Kenya PoliceThe coach Johnathan McKinstry’s side faces Mathare United in a tricky tie on Wednesday afternoon in a match losing can never be an option.
