Bayern’s captain is going nowhere, says club’s CEO

Unlike many seasons before, the situation in Bayern Munich is ‘on the edge’ at the moment. Only one points separates the Bavarians and Borussia Dortmund and only three games are left to play. Apart from the exciting title battle, behind the scenes, Bayern’s board members are preparing for a meeting scheduled after the end of Bundesliga and even a sacking of club’s CEO or sporting director (or both) could happen. On top of that, the German media are full of Thomas Muller stories. One of Bayern’s icons is at the crossroads, ones he never thought would happen. Even thou he was a substitute a couple of times under Julian Nagelsmann, he definitely lost the first-team status under Thomas Tuchel. And he is mulling over his options.Thomas Müller is seriously considering leaving Bayern due to his current situation. Müller is not considering retirement and wants to play until at least 2024. He wants to continue playing for a club that competes for trophies. In nine games since Tuchel took charge, Muller started in five, while he came from the bench in others, notably both matches with Manchester City in the Champions League. He played the whole match only against Hoffenheim (1-1).❗❗Most Assists in a season in each Top 5 Leagues21 – La Liga – Leo Messi 🐐20 – EPL – Theirry Henry15 – Serie A – Alejandro Gomez21 – Bundesliga – Thomas Muller18- Ligue 1 – Angel Di Maria 🫡 pic.twitter.com/ffMVC9GumV— Barça Worldwide (@BarcaWorldwide) May 3, 2023 When asked if Muller will leave the club at the end of the season, Bayern’s CEO Oliver Kahn was clear.“That will not happen. But if that were to happen, I would talk him out of it in no uncertain terms. Thomas is fit, never injured and has an incredibly strong character. He is incredibly important to the whole structure. I’m sure: Thomas will still play a lot of games for us” said Kahn to Bild.Executives at the training ground – this time in Bayern MunichBut, that didn’t convince a lot of people. Muller is quiet for now, since he knows that the title is on the line, and he wants to help as much as he can, but after the season is over, all options are open. His contract runs out in 2024 and he won’t sit on the bench the whole season. On the other hand, Bayern’s executives Oliver Kahn, sports director Hasan Salihamidzic and even President Herbert Hainer already contacted Muller. They don’t want this scenario to unfold and would like him to stay until 2024 and finish his career in Bayern. But the player is not sure yet. He will wait until the end of the season, and will decide. There are other options on the table, and as usual, Saudi Arabia and USA teams are offering their services, but he wouldn’t say ‘no’ to a Bundesliga club as well.##NAJAVA_MECA_7252320##
