If you thought you had seen it all after AFC Leopards ended their winless streak in the Mashemeji Derby by beating Gor Mahia 2-1 on Sunday, then you have not!Ingwe tactician Patrick Aussems hopes that Gor Mahia gets one over Tusker FC to reclaim the top spot when the two sides meet in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League during Round 31. The Brewers lead the standings with just a point separating them and Gor ahead of the meeting between the two sides that is believed to be the title decider. In an interview, the Belgian was categorical that he was not happy that they dented Gor Mahia’s chances of claiming their 20th league title with the Sunday defeat.##NAJAVA_MECA_7261632##After losing to AFC Leopards for the first time in seven years, K’Ogalo were unable to reclaim the top spot with Tusker having ascended to the top the day before.”No, I will be straight with you and I just hope that Gor Mahia will make the job next week to be in front of Tusker,” Aussems replied when asked whether he was satisfied with derailing the record Kenyan champions. The surprising pick for Aussems might have been occasioned by his differences with Tusker’s coach Robert Matano which have been in play since December last year.Understandably, the squabble between Aussems and Matano started when the latter visited Ingwe’s dressing room after their match against Posta Rangers in the first leg encounter in December last year and went on to talk to the players after Aussems had left. This did not sit well with the former Simba coach who has since banished a member of the technical bench from the team for allegedly facilitating Matano’s entrance to the dressing room.Ulinzi Stars talismanic pair doubtful for Tusker clashThe same escalated when the two teams, AFC Leopards and Tusker, met in April at Nyayo Stadium, with both coaches engaging in a war of words in two instances in the match.Aussems followed later with a social media attack that was arguably aimed at Matano but the Tusker man replied later terming Aussems a ‘failure’.Matano then went ahead to initiate legal action against Aussems, with his legal representatives stating that the defamatory statement has caused him harm both professionally and personally. In the demand letter, Wambilianga, Majani & Associates demanded an unconditional apology from Mr. Aussems within three days and further requested that the apology be published on his Twitter page. If the apology is not received within the stipulated time, legal proceedings may be instituted for the recovery of compensation.
