Ingwe duo set to return for Homeboyz clash

AFC Leopards will have two more key players available for Saturday’s Mozzart Bet Cup semifinal match against Kakamega Homeboyz at the Nyayo National Stadium.Silverware-chasing Ingwe will take on their nemesis, Homeboyz, with a final berth at stake. The league match between the two sides played last month was aborted in the first half when the March referee was attacked by fans, and the semifinal match is equally expected to be a heated affair.##NAJAVA_MECA_7261632##Last Sunday, Homeboyz lost to Nzoia Sugar FC at the Bukhungu Stadium, while Leopards beat Gor Mahia in the Mashemeji Derby for the first time in seven years ahead of the Cup showdown. The winner of the cup will grace next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.In the Derby, Leopards missed the services of lead striker Ojo Olaniyi and midfielder Brian Wanyama, who were both suspended after accumulating five yellow cards. Coach Patrick Aussems is happy to have them back.”Brian and Ojo were suspended, and they will be back for the Cup game. Apart from Teddy Esilaba, all the other players are fit to play,” he said. This Weekend 🏆 #MozzartBetCup Semi Finals📅 Saturday 20th May 2023.⚔️ Tusker vs Ulinzi stars – 13:00⚔️ AFC Leopards vs Homeboyz – 15:15🏟️ Nyayo National Stadium📺 KBC Channel 1 TVYour predictions? pic.twitter.com/1mq8sO6d6k— SportsKE (@BarasaNjakusi) May 16, 2023 Ingwe were also boosted by the return of the young duo of Kayci Odhiambo and Lewis Bandi. Odhiambo has struggled with injuries this campaign and has been in and out of the team, while Bandi had been out for over two months prior to starting in the derby.”I wanted Bandi and Kayci to have minutes in the Derby so that they could be ready for next week’s game. I think that they did well, and that’s a plus for the team”.Aussems further labeled the derby win as good preparation for his team ahead of the Cup game.”We used the game to prepare for next week’s Mozzart Bet Cup semi-finals against Kakamega Homeboyz FC, but of course, to get a victory is something a little bit special, and it will give us a boost. I’m very proud of my players because they played a good game.”.Harambee Stars defender ranked among best dribbling over 23 year old fullbacks in the world
