Vihiga Bullets head coach Milton Kidiga is eyeing an immediate bounce back to the top tier and believes his team has what it takes to return to the FKF Premier League for the 2024–25 season. The Bullets’ loss to FC Talanta over the weekend saw them relegated to the second tier after what had been a torrid campaign for the side. They have managed just eight points so far this season, with just two wins to their name.##NAJAVA_MECA_7261632##Much of their problems have been due to financial challenges. There has also been a coach turnover at the club. They started with George Owoko, who later resigned, and Kidiga was handed the team temporarily. Last month, they appointed Ugandan Louis Kizito, who handled the team for two games before fleeing, and Kidiga was once again called upon to guide the team until their relegation was confirmed on Saturday. The tactician now says the goal is to spend just one season in the second tier, a target that he believes is achievable with proper planning.”We want to bounce back immediately. We want to play in the second tier for just one season and earn promotion back. If we put everything in order, I believe that’s something we can achieve,” he said.Vihiga Bullets relegated after today’s loss to FC Talanta #FKFPL pic.twitter.com/Qd9UfORbVz— Ole Teya (@TeyaKevin) May 13, 2023 Reflecting on the team’s poor run this season, Kidiga rued the financial challenges’ implications for the team.”It’s unfortunate that we got relegated, but we cannot dwell on that because our problems are in the public domain; financial constraints cost us a place in the Premier League, and we now have to focus on the future; that’s what’s important,” he added. He further promised that they would honour all the games despite the confirmation of their relegation.”We are going to honour all our remaining games, that’s for sure. We have been relegated, yes, but there’s still so much to play for. We are going to play under less pressure because our fate is sealed and the goal is to finish the season strongly, which we believe will translate to a good start in the second tier next season.”.’No cause for alarm’: Mathare United coach tells fans amid relegation fears
