COLUMBUS, Ohio — The field for the 57th Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club is rounding into form, with all of the top five golfers in the world ranking committing so far to the June 1-4 PGA Tour event in Dublin.
No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, No. 2 Jon Rahm (2020 Memorial champion) and No. 3 Rory McIlroy will be joined by No. 4 Patrick Cantlay (2019, 2021 Memorial champion) and No. 5 Xander Schauffele at Muirfield Village, which has grown longer with the lengthening of the No. 16 and No. 17 holes.
Defending Memorial champion Billy Horschel returns to the Jack Nicklaus-designed course, as do two other former winners in Hideki Matsuyama (2014) and Matt Kuchar (2013).
The field, which will be finalized Friday afternoon, is playing for a purse of $20 million, a 60 percent increase from last year’s $12 million, as the Tour has made the Memorial one of eight designated events.
