Bandari FC interim head coach Twahir Muhiddin put aside any expectations on him to take over as the permanent manager after seeing his side seamlessly ride through the storm that rocked the club halfway inside the current season.Muhiddin was roped in on a temporary role at the coastal side on 5 May to replace former manager Anthony Modo Kimani who was sacked immediately after a 3-0 Mozzart Cup defeat suffered in the hands of AFC Leopards at the Kasarani Stadium.Mashabiki wao watatu wanakumbatiana wakiambiana yatapita. The club in a statement stated; “We believe this is the right decision for the club as we strive to achieve our goals and aspirations.”Since then, Bandari have played six league matches, won four and drawn twice – all leading to the question as to whether the experienced tactician would be lured to take over permanently next season.##NAJAVA_MECA_7298495##“I don’t fancy the job,” Muhiddin said immediately after Bandari’s 2-0 win over Sofapaka FC at the Nyayo National Stadium last Saturday. “My idea was to be here till the end of the season. I have lots of outside work to deal with. My other work with FKF takes precedence now because I am committed to it.”Muhiddin, alongside a cast of respectable Kenyan coaches including former Harambee Stars head coach Francis Kimanzi, Salim Ali and Leonard Odipo have been in recent years working as CAF instructors during coaches clinics and training.Muhiddin hopes to continue with the job but looking back at his one-month stint at the club, the former Harambee Stars assistant coach was grateful that Bandari had regained its place as a competitive FKF Premier League side.“My goal once I stepped back here was to ensure that the standards were back to reflecting us as a strong and competitive side,” Muhiddin said. “The realization that some of the players were fatigued, unmotivated and lacking the exact know-how to navigate games was what I dealt with first. I can only thank God that they took the lessons and made a good run befitting our club.”Huyu Abdallah adabu zake ni ndogo sana. He can only get better,” the former Oserian head coach said. With two fixtures remaining against Kariobangi Sharks and Posta Rangers, it is almost certain that the club will finish in the top six – a position they currently occupy with 54 points gained this season.
