‘Old school’ Uli Hoennes and Karl Heinz Rummenigge are back to stabilize Bayern and rebuild a team that has failed this season, despite successfully winning the Bundesliga title. After the changes upfront (Jan-Christian Dreesen as the new CEO instead of Oliver Kahn), the duo remains in the shadows, but everybody knows they are key men. And now, it’s time for the sports sector to start doing their part of the job, even thou the sporting director seat is still empty, following the dismissal of Hasan Salihamidzic on the last day of the league. But some deals are already done, and some are almost done.👋 #ServusKonradFC Bayern have completed the signing of Konrad Laimer ✍️🔗 https://t.co/dk9xTSK7wK#MiaSanMia— FC Bayern Munich (@FCBayernEN) June 9, 2023 Today, Bayern Munich announced its first official signing: Konrad Laimer. The Austrian midfielder signed a contract with Bayern until 2027. His free transfer from Leipzig was agreed last winter, and now it has only been officially confirmed when his contract with his former club expired. He was the wish of now former Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann, with whom he worked in Leipzig, but it was too much for Bayern to pay the requested 30,000,000 euros for the player who entered the last year of his contract. The Bavarians waited and got him for free. Even thou Nagelsmann is no longer around, Bayern’s current coach Thomas Tuchel appreciates the quality of the Austrian midfielder and will welcome him with open arms. It’s a well-trodden path: Another Borussia Dortmund ace is going to Bayern without compensationHowever, he will not be Bayern’s only midfield addition. Tuchel wants another reinforcement. And much more expensive. He is asking the club to bring West Ham midfielder Declan Rice, whose price is around 100,000,000 euros. It will be a little more difficult, so the Bavarians are also thinking about alternatives. One of them is Sofian Amrabat from Fiorentina. The outcome of bringing in a new midfielder is not yet close, but the second transfer is. After Leimer, Bayern will soon confirm another reinforcement after they agreed on everything with left-back Rafael Guerreira, whose contract with Borussia Dortmund has expired.Leroy Sané’s future is uncertain. The winger is on the list of potential sale candidates next to the likes of Mané, Gnabry, Sabitzer, Nübel, Pavard, Sarr, Sommer [@altobelli13, @cfbayern, Bayern-Insider] pic.twitter.com/aVgs3wUnXc— Bayern & Germany (@iMiaSanMia) June 9, 2023 For his part, coach Thomas Tuchel has given the club a list of players who are free to leave Munich during the upcoming transfer window. If Bild has the right information (and they usually do), the Bavarians will be without flanks this June. Three wingers, Leroy Sane, Sadio Mane and Serge Gnabry all reportedly all free to go. Even thou he only arrived last year from Liverpool, the Senegal international will be looking for another club. Mane only scored seven goals from 25 league appearances during his debut season and punched Sane in the face. His actions are certainly not worth 35 million euros. Other players who are cut off are Right-back Bouna Sarr, goalkeeper Alexander Nubel (on loan at Monaco), midfielder Marcel Sabitzer (on loan at Manchester United), while Benjamin Pavard is only the list after he apparently chose not to extend his deal at Bayern.##NAJAVA_MECA_7311847##
