Aussems, Matano, Kimanzi on Bandari radar as Dockers plan ambitious scoop

Mombasa-based FKF Premier League side Bandari FC are showing ambition and are going for a top coach to replace Anthony Kimani among a raft of changes the new management is making to make the club better and more successful, vice chairman Twaha Mbarak has disclosed. The Dockers are currently under interim coach Twahir Muhiddin, who has been in charge of the team for the last six weeks. The veteran tactician has made it clear that he is not interested in taking the job permanently. He replaced Kimani in May after the former Kenyan international was shown the door after the Mozzart Bet Cup quarterfinal exit.##NAJAVA_MECA_7312223##Apart from Kimani’s departure, Kenya Ports Authority made changes in the team, disbanding the entire board and handing the team to the new board, on which Twaha serves as vice chairman. The team is rigorously looking for a new coach, who is expected to take over immediately after the current season comes to a close.Twaha has now disclosed that they are eyeing top coaches from local sides and outside the country and that they will only settle for the best in the next few weeks. Tusker FC’s Robert Matano, AFC Leopards’ Patrick Aussems, Nzoia’s Salim Babu, and former Harambee Stars boss Francis Kimanzi are some of the local coaches that they are engaging.NSL: Shabana eye bragging rights and revenge in Gusii derby”We are going for the best. Matano, Aussems, Kimanzi, and Babu are some of the coaches that we are considering; we also have coaches from outside the country. We are taking the time to settle on a bench we believe will be the best for the club,” he told Mozzart Sport. On the fate of the rest of the technical bench members who stayed put after Kimani’s exit, Twaha admits that they could all leave if they settle on a local coach. “It depends on who will be our new coach next season. A local coach will most likely want to bring his own team on board, while a foreigner may be willing to work with the people already at the club. The person we appoint will guide us, and so it’s a situation that could go either way.”.There will be a purge on the playing unit as well, with those deemed surplus to requirements exiting to create room for new arrivals. “We want to have a better team than the one we had this season, and that means we will be bringing in new players, and some of those with us will have to leave; it is a normal thing in football. But that is not a decision that the management will make; it is upon the coaches to decide who stays and who paves the way,” he added.ExclusiveMombasa-based FKF Premier League side Bandari FC are seriously interested in Tusker FC head coach Robert Matano. They are keen on getting him once the 2022–23 FKF Premier League campaign comes to a close at the end of the month. And as we speak, we are in talks with an already-established women’s team that plays in the FKF League to see how we can work together. We want to have a fully functional unit; Bandari will be a better team next season and beyond,” he added. The former FKF Vice President made it clear that the league title is the club’s minimum target for next season, with conquering the continent also on their menu.”When you look at our financial backing, Bandari shouldn’t be content with just participating in the league; we should be winning trophies every year because, in terms of players and team’s welfare, we do well and we will do even better going forward. It is only fair that it is repaid with tittles and that our minimum goal next season is to win the Kenyan Premier League title,” he added.”After that, the goal will be to do well on the continent. That’s in our long-term plans, and we will put the right measures in place to ensure that we are not only a force to be reckoned with locally but also leave a mark on the continental scene.”.Situma promises CBA with FKF to improve players’ welfare
