Acakoro Ladies eye Safaricom Chapa Dimba National title

That Acakoro is a center of football excellence is not in doubt. The ladies side has succeeded in past editions of the Safaricom Chapa Dimba grassroots football tournament but are now eyeing the National title. The fourth edition of the prestigious tournament is set to kick off in the coming weeks with Western region preliminaries. For Acakoro, they have conquered Nairobi region and now the target is to bag the National title. “We are very clear with what we want to achieve in the Chapa Dimba tournament this time – the National title. I am still building a team and I believe I will have one of the best squads this time. We know the competition especially at the National level will be very tough but will be ready for battle by then,” Jackline Adhiambo, the Acakoro Ladies tactician, told Mozzart Sport. The first edition was held in 2018, the second in 2019, while the third edition was paused midway in 2020 due to the eruption of the Covid-19 pandemic.Registration for this year’s edition of the tournament is currently ongoing. The National finals will be played between 12-14 January 2024.
