Kamungei United have been relegated from the FKF Division One after failing to honour their home game aganist Bungoma Superstars at Kamungei Secondary School Grounds. This was the third match the club was failing to honour in the current season having missed two others aganist Transfoc Fc and first leg action pitting them with Bungoma Superstars. FKF leagues and competitions department, citing FIFA rules noted that if a team fails to honour three league games, they are relegated to the subsequent lower divisions . “The rules states that if a club misses three games in a season without a valid reason, they are relegated to the lower tier. ” Teams that have played Kamungei in the second leg will have to be deducted the points they got, which is going to have a huge impact on National Super League promotion race. The Bomet based club was hit with a massive financial crisis mid season, which led to key players exiting the club, eventually crippling the club’s performance. The game was supposed to kick off at 2pm. They had organised for the school games to play in the field, austensibly to delay our kick off. We gave them some mercy and agreed to kick off at 3.20pm. They were not ready again. So we made calls to the federation and they were allowed up to 3.45pm to kick off. When time came, they didn’t have security and money for the match officials. Teams marched to the field and the MC called off the match in favour of Bungoma Superstars FC.” Offered Bungoma Superstars media director Simiyu Baraza . Kamungei United, are who are without a win in nine league matches, are ranked 15th on division one log with seven points from 24 matches and will be hoping FKF extends an olive leave and allows them to conclude the season.
