African duo on Mourinho’s radar

AS Roma did it again. Just like last season, when they picked up some great free agents (Paolo Dybala, Andrea Belotti, Nemanja Matić, Ola Solbakken), Jose Mourinho and his sports sector have already brought in two fantastic free agents: Frankfurt’s defender Evan Ndicka and Lyon’s creative midfielder Houssem Aouar. Roma need more players as they will have to rotate, considering they have three competitions next season and they will continue to look for other good deals. But, for some of them they will have to pay. Roma’s attack is severely crippled by the heavy injury of Tammy Abraham. The former Chelsea man suffered a long-term knee injury on the last day of the season. With often injured Dybala and reserve striker Belotti, Mourinho won’t be able to ‘attack’ the Champions League place. So, Roma are looking to boost the forward positions. And two Africans are on the radar. Both play in England, both are from the same club.Scamacca listening to an offer from a boyhood clubThe Premier League winners seven years ago have been relegated and will move to the Championship in September. Leicester has a number of good players in all positions and need to trim down the wage bill, meaning that every player is for sale if the price is right. According to Gazzeta, sports director Tiago Pinto and the CEO Lina Souloukou are in London right now, working on three deals, all for strikers. Number 1 option is certainly AS Roma childhood fan and out of favor West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca, but the next two are Africans Kelechi Iheanacho and Patson Daka. Ivorian centre-back Ndicka joins RomaThe Nigerian forward was already a target for Roma, and was also a replacement for Abraham. But in 2021, he was the alternative in case the English striker doesn’t come to Rome, and now he is again alternative, since Abraham is injured. He appeared on the pitch for Leicester 28 times this season and scored five goals, but the beauty lies in his contract – it will run out in 2024, which means the best bargain can be achieved in July. Zambian striker is also an option, and he is personal desire of Pinto since Paka was in Red Bull Salzburg when he first wanted to buy him. He is younger than Iheanacho and proved that he can score goals in England, but the deal would be more expensive, as his contract runs out in 2026. Roma’s preferance is Scamacca, but West Ham wants to taste the waters first and see if they can sell him. Only if there are no good options will they allow him to leave on loan. ##NAJAVA_MECA_7342105##
