Everybody buys, only Chelsea sells: 9 sold and it’s only July

Many clubs, or almost all of them, to be precise, are working in the same pattern – buy players in January (but only if you must) and do your major job in the June transfer window. But since acquiring Chelsea, USA businessman Todd Boehly has done the opposite – he bought players whenever possible (August 2022, January 2023, June 2023), and he is now in a situation where he will sell more players than he will buy. After buying 16 players in the last two years, on which they spent around 700 million euros, the time has come to sell many of them, as they are overcrowded, to say at least in the dressing room.Which player do you think Chelsea will regret after selling. And so far, in the so-called ’Phase’, they managed to get rid of no less than nine players. But they don’t intend to stop there. In fact, the beginning of July marks ’Phase 2’ in which another eight players should leave the club, bringing the total to 17 players by September!🚨 Chelsea have made an official offer on personal terms to Romeo Lavia and Liverpool have met his entourage several times in recent weeks. 🇧🇪Southampton are yet to receive an official bid. 🔜(Source: @Santi_J_FM) pic.twitter.com/z2oXzzb6eE— Transfer News Live (@DeadlineDayLive) July 3, 2023 The first part of the sale saw two players leaving as their loans ran out, and the club decided not to use the buyout clause (Joao Felix, Denis Zakaria), but they were counted as Chelsea players since the Blues paid their wages and even paid for the loan (11 million for Felix, three million for Zakaria). World and European champions N’Golo Kante and Tiemoure Bakayoko left the club as free agents and trimmed the wage bill, while Kai Havertz, Mateo Kovačić, Kalidou Koulibaly, Edouard Mendy and Ruben Loftus-Cheek were sold for a total fee of around 157 million euros.Details revealed: Manchester United will TRIPLE Mount’s salary at Old TraffordIn’Phase 2’, the idea is to sell Romelu Lukaku, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Christian Pulisic, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Trevoh Chalobah, Cesar Azpilicueta, Mason Mount and Marc Cucurella. The challenge will be to sell Lukaku and Cucurella, as others are not so hard to ship off. Christian Pulisic has rejected a 25 million offer from Lyon as he wants to be transferred to AC Milan for 14 million, Hudson-Odoi will be sold to either Fulham or Nottingham Forest, Mount has already done his medical at Manchester United, and Cesar Azpilicueta has agreed to cut short his contract and leave for Atletico Madrid. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will probably end up somewhere in Saudi Arabia, while Chalobah was mentioned as a transfer target for either Milan or Inter. Lukaku has a season to forget in Inter, but ironically, they are the only ones interested in him (from Europe). Nerrazzuri are in deep financial trouble, but Chelsea doesn’t want to loan him anymore, so the problem will be to find a reasonable fee, and the player will need to cut his wages a lot as part of a potential deal. Marc Cucurella was bought just last season for a stunning 65 million and didn’t show even a fringe for this price tag. There is no way that any club will pay more then 35 million for the player, which is only half of the price Chelsea gave to Brighton, so he just might stay in the club.##NAJAVA_MECA_7347608##
