On demand: Tusker’s Oduor attracting huge interest from three Zambian clubs

Tusker FC winger Michael Oduor has attracted huge interest from three clubs plying trade in the Zambian Super League following his decent end to the 2022-23 FKF Premier League season.Oduor, whose contract at Tusker ends at the end of July, is also in talks with his parent club on extending his contract to a potentially long-term deal.##NAJAVA_MECA_7353407##The former KCB man couldn’t disclose the clubs tracking him but he is now seriously considering their deals, some of which were communicated to him by his agent before his side played in last weekend’s Mozzart Bet Cup final against Kakamega Homeboyz at the Kasarani Stadium. After the 1-0 loss, one that confirmed the team’s trophyless campaign after finishing second to Gor Mahia in the league, Oduor has some ample time before his active contract expires to ponder on his next move.“It has been a brilliant last four months for me at Tusker,” the winger told Mozzart Sport, clarifying that that was not a farewell message. “At a time when I needed a club to take me up, Tusker and head coach Robert Matano took me under their wings and I am glad that I am attracting interest from teams outside the country that have been tracking my performances.””Best feeling in my life”: Tusker’s Michael Oduor speaks of first club goalOn the alluring deals, Oduor added a slight caveat; “It’s always a player’s dream to move to a different league. There is indeed that quest to get a new challenge.”Oduor, a former Wazito and Kariobangi Sharks player, joined The Brewers in the mid-season transfer window late March, signing a four months deal with the then league defending champions. It didn’t take him long to settle, earning his debut in the club’s Mozzart Bet cup win over Rainbow FC in April, leading up to him nicking his first goal at Ruaraka against his former side KCB in a 1-0 win on 26 April 2023.Michael Oduor scores a beauty for Tusker!!Get in #Tusker #FootballKe pic.twitter.com/5mGrgXKoUu— Sammy Gitahi (@SammyGitahi7) April 26, 2023 Then, Tusker head coach Robert Matano heaped lots of praise on Oduor saying: “He is a very good player and that was one of the reasons we brought him in and accepted his qualities. Everyone here is happy for him because he always works hard for the team and gives everything. From start to finish today, I loved his game.”His revelation at Tusker continued later on in the season, where he was awarded with the man of the match award in the Mozzart Bet Cup quarter finals victory over KCB.“I will have a series of meetings with the club and soon enough, my future will be alot more clearer,” the forward added.NSC 2023: Blak Blad return to Division 1 as pools for Driftwood 7s are confirmedShould he join either of the trio of sides in Zambia, Oduor will join a long list of Kenyans who have featured in the Zambian Premier League including Kenyan international goalkeeper Ian Otieno (Zesco United) and Jesse Were (Kansanshi Dynamos FC).
