Mourinho on the lookout for another United’s player

For many Manchester United fans, a fact that somebody is interested in Scott McTominay looks like a joke. The Scottish international was a subject of many critics in recent years, even from the former United legends. Roy Keane used to say that Fred and McTominay don’t have enough football intelligence on the pitch and won’t bring Manchester to the Premier League to their previous glory. After Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick, Erik ten Hag came in as a coach, and the result was visible, as McTominay moved to the bench. Last season, he made 39 appearances across all competitions as cover in midfield, only 16 of those came from the start, and just 10 in the Premier League.LATEST:🚨 AS Roma and Brighton are both interested in Scott McTominay, with the latter being a potential replacement for Moises Caicedo, should he leave. He still has a valid contract until 2025 and Ten Hag doesn’t have any problems with the Scotsman. He is a squad rotation player and will start in some minor games to give starters a rest, or if someone is suspended. After all, the Red Devils will fight on four fronts this season. On the other hand, if an interesting offer arrives, Ten Hag will have no problem seling the player, as he already has Fernandes, Casemiro, Eriksen and Fred in the squad, not to mention they signed Mason Mount today. But who is interested?Newcastle was the strongest name, and Magpies really enquired about the player, but with Sandro Tonali in the squad, they are now looking a defender and forwards, so they are out. But in Italy, there is a guy who gave McTominay his first Premier League debut – Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese coach is always looking to boost his midfield in Rome and could try to lure his former player to join him, just like he did with Nemanja Matić. As for Brighton, McTominay could be used as ‘bate’ for Moises Caicedo, who is a transfer wish for both Chelsea and Manchester. By adding in the Scotsman, the Red Devils hope that the Seagulls could lower their price for Caicedo. It’s a long shot, but it’s worth trying.##NAJAVA_MECA_7353141##
