This was the day when Rainbow were supposed to hit the accelerator and catch the dual carriageway towards the National Super League fron but, that did not happen as Young Bulls stopped their March.Bulls held Rainbow to a 2-2 draw at the Gems on Thursday afternoon.Ali Gaucho’s side went into the game with the worst away record in the league but they left their opponents frustrated.Seeking a second win in seven games ,Bulls got the early initiative courtesy of Athman Bori who was at the end of a lovely break away from Sudi Nyamawi. Rainbow were quick to compose themselves and soon settled the scores through Edward Omondi as teams headed to the dressing room. A defensive mix up at the back of Macharia’s team ,gifted Bull’s top scorer Alex Mwalimu a lose ball to slot home in the 70th minute and place Young Bulls on the control seat . Gaucho’s charges looked en route to a first win in three games to boost their National Super League promotion chances only for Steiner Musasia to nick a goal at death to salvage a point for the most in form team in the championship currently.The draw leaves Rainbow FC at the summit of FKF Division One standings as Young Bulls drops to third following Nairobi United demolition of Vapor Sports. Elsewhere,at Stima Club Rodgers Oporia ,Majaliwa Charo and Ian Mutanda were on target as Nairobi United humbled relegation bound Vapor Sports three goals to nil to return in to NSL promotion equations. It was the Naiboi’s second win in five matches ending a string of poor results recently posted by the Paul Okatwa coached side. The results lifts Nairobi United to second on the log leapfrogging Young Bulls ,who have dropped out of promotion zone for the first time this campaign. In a relegation battle staged at Ruaraka grounds , Kenya Navy moved out of the danger zone with a one nil victory over troubled EPZ Balaji, Peter Mwema scored the lone strike of the match . In Isiolo ,Michah Misolo’s brace and one goal each from Nelson Mandela and Peter Lolosoli was enough for Olympic Pirates to sink the out of form Ruiru Hot Stars four goals to one and move two steps up the table to settle eighth on 44 points two adrift of fifth placed Ruiru. In Zone B ,Milimu Anami scored late in the second half as Zoo FC avoided a late scare from Bungoma Superstars to record a seventh win in a row and move joint top of the Zone B Standings with a game in hand .Luanda Villa lost momentum in the promotion race as they drew 0-0 away to Transfoc FC a result that drops them to third on the standings with three rounds left to the conclusion of the season. In Nakuru ,Nzoia Sugar target Ian Nyongesa was on target as Nyota FC bounced back from a set of defeats with a 1-0 win aganist relegation favorites GDC Nakuru.
