Muki reveals how he surprisingly signed for Bandari within 2 hours

Less than one month since officially calling time to an over 15 year playing career, Harambee Stars midfielder Anthony ‘Muki’ Kimani has revealed how he signed for coastal based Bandari FC within a span of two hours in one of the most unplanned deals in football history.Having plied his trade for Nairobi City Stars, Sofapaka and Bandari since 2008 when he made his premier league debut, Muki, who joined the Dockers after the end of the 2014 campaign from Sofapaka, reveals how what was supposed to be a friendly meet up with his friend David Kingatua, a former Thika United, Bandari and Sofapaka player, ended up with him signing a contract to join Bandari without any prior arrangements.“I had already played five and a half seasons at Sofapaka and it got to a point where I felt like I wanted a new challenge. So the move to Bandari came about in a funny way and it was David Kingatua who initiated all of it without even knowing. At the time, he was meeting with the officials from Bandari to agree on how they would be signing him from Thika United,” Muki reveals in an interview on One on One with Jeff Kinyanjui.“The season was over and when I happened to call him, he was in town so we agreed to meet. At that time, Ken Odhiambo was the head coach and when I got to where they were, I was allowed to join in their meeting. While I was there, Ken joked that I should sign for Bandari and I said why not because my motivation was the money,” ##NAJAVA_MECA_7365516##”Kingatua, who had not finished his deal with them, was told to excuse us as we tried to reach an agreement and by the time I was leaving, I had already signed as a Bandari player when I had just gone to meet my friend, even signing before he did.Within two hours, everything was in place and that is how I joined the club. It was easy because I had also made up my mind that I wanted to move,” he added.Muki was named the Kenyan Premier League midfielder of the year after a stellar campaign in 2010 while in his first full season with Sofapaka.Derrick Otanga explains why he has left Kenya Police FCHe helped Batoto ba Mungu win Kenyan Super Cup two times in a row as they beat AFC Leopards and Ulinzi Stars in 2010 and 2011 respectively, as well as clinching the 2010 FKF President’s Cup where he scored in the 2-0 win over West Kenya Sugar. In 2015, he won the FKF President’s Cup with Bandari as they beat Nakumatt 4-2 at the Nyayo Stadium, scoring the opener for the Dockers from the spot. The following year, he was Super Cup winner again, scoring the lone goal as Bandari sunk Gor Mahia at the Municipal Stadium in Mombasa. At the national team level, Kimani was capped ten times between 2010 and 2012.Mwalala ditches Ulinzi Stars for KCB
